About the Position

Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory Therapy Specialty: Respiratory Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years License: RRT, licensed with the Missouri Board for Respiratory Care Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA; preferred certification: PALS Must-Have: Adult critical care experience, high volume busy emergency department with trauma experience. Description: Position requires a strong, confident therapist with good time management skills. Willingness to assist coworkers as time allows is essential. The role involves caring for respiratory patients throughout all areas of the facility. You will work with equipment including Avea ventilators, LTV transport, V60 Bipap, Vapo therm, and Airvo for high flow. Patient ratios are based on a point system and depend on staffing. The position may require floating as necessary. Weekend hours and on-call duties will be required as dictated by the facility. A flu vaccination or approved exemption is required for seasonal employment. Ideal candidates will have experience with blood gas draws, processing, and interpretation. This position entails working in a dynamic and high acuity environment. Expected to stabilize pediatric patients in the emergency department prior to transfer to a sister facility. Applicants should exhibit strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a busy setting. Professional attire includes Client standard scrubs, which must be black. The job requires interaction with a diverse patient population, including adult and pediatric patients. Responsibilities include ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. Collaborative teamwork is vital in providing effective respiratory therapy services.
