Our national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group is an advisory practice with significant advancement opportunities. RSM US LLP is looking for a dynamic M&A Federal Senior Tax Manager to join our national Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group. This is a rapidly growing consulting practice with significant advancement opportunities. We advise multinational corporations, privately held companies, partnerships, and private equity firms on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing M&A transactions. Within RSM’s Tax M&A practice, you will be responsible for the following job duties, which are focused around three core concepts: Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development. Responsibilities Work as a part of a multi‑disciplinary team that focuses on delivering due diligence and tax structuring services, and communicates findings and opportunities to clients. Work with and assist other senior members of the M&A Tax practice with various technical tax issues dealing with consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. Assist clients with reorganizations, bankruptcy emergence planning, out of court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, earnings and profits, and Section 382 studies. Manage multiple engagements simultaneously and work with all M&A colleagues across the enterprise. Develop, motivate, and train staff and senior level team members. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited university. One of the following is required: an active CPA license in the state of residence or primary office; an active Enrolled Agent (EA) license; or an active Attorney license. Minimum of eight years of tax experience in public accounting, with the ability to effectively identify, sell, and deliver tax services to middle‑market clients. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to meet client service, quality, and performance expectations within applicable deadlines and in accordance with firm and client standards. Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with firm personnel and clients in person, by telephone, and through electronic and written means. Effective project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects simultaneously; meet deadlines; and maintain accuracy and quality of work in a fast‑paced, client service environment. Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment and, as required by the role, at client sites, including the ability to sit for extended periods of time and work at a computer and other standard office equipment. Ability to maintain a consistent onsite presence during core business hours, including regularly reporting to a firm office location and traveling to client sites as required, with access to reliable transportation. Ability to work extended and/or non‑standard hours during peak periods or as necessary to meet client, project, or firm business needs. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters across various industries. Master’s degree in Taxation. Compensation Compensation Range: $170,700 - $342,700. Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
