Corporate Accountant

Senior Corporate AccountantOur client a small but growing company, has an immediate need for a "hands on", Senior Corporate Accountant with construction job costing experience. Responsibilities include:Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts on a monthly basis including researching variances and preparing explanations and adjustmentsPreparing the closing of monthly and year-end accounting files including preparing journal entries, updating/gathering information and reports for financial meetingsPreparing monthly work in process schedule for contracts in preparation of percentage of completion revenue recognitionPreparing weekly reports to deliver to CFO for weekly reporting packageMaintaining all accounting functions for fixed assets, including coding, calculating additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliation fixed asset software to ERPPreparing and maintaining debt schedules and amortization schedulesPreparing and maintaining lease schedulesServing as liaison for interdepartmental projects and/or request by providing accounting supportPerforming clerical tasks including but not limited to posting cash receipts and coding invoicesProviding accounting guidance to non-accounting staff and other duties as requested by managementAnnual duties include preparing tangible personal business property tax returns, preparing excise motor fuel tax, and providing main tactical support for annual financial audit and insurance auditQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceMinimum 5 years' experience working in accountingStrong understanding of double entry accountingStrong understanding of job costing (construction industry preferred will consider manufacturing cost experience)Strong Excel skills (pivot, V lookup, Sumif, filters, etc.)Self-starter with ability to work efficiently with little direct supervisionAbility to identify areas for improvement, make recommendations, and implementAbility to work in a lean environment which will require performing tasks unrelated to accountingCPA a plusAudit experience a plusConstruction Industry preferredSpectrum accounting system a plusOur client offers a salary of $70k - $80k depending on experience and full benefits including 401k, PTO
