Job Full Description

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Estimator . The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and takeoffs for structural and miscellaneous steel projects, developing competitive bids, preparing customer proposals, and following up on submitted bids to help secure projects.

Qualifications

• Construction estimating experience preferred.
• Experience estimating structural and/or miscellaneous steel is strongly preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and shop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Bluebeam experience preferred.
• Microsoft Excel experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.

Experience

• Construction estimating: 1 year preferred not required
• Structural or miscellaneous steel estimating experience is a plus.
• Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered based on qualifications and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, construction drawings, and project requirements to accurately determine project scope.
• Utilize Bluebeam to perform detailed estimates and material takeoffs for structural and miscellaneous steel.
• Read and interpret shop drawings, design drawings, and project specifications.
• Prepare accurate material selections, quantity takeoffs, pricing, bid strategies, and estimate presentations.
• Ensure estimates accurately capture the project scope and comply with customer specifications and supplied drawings.
• Prepare complete proposals outlining items included and excluded from the bid.
• Submit proposals and bids in a timely manner to meet customer deadlines.
• Follow up on submitted bids to obtain customer feedback, review pricing, and help sell awarded projects.

Pay: $20.00-30.00 / Hour
