Field Service Engineer 1

GE HealthCare seeks a Field Service Engineer 1 to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on medical imaging equipment in the Long Island, NY region. The role involves working with ultrasound, X-ray, CT, MR, and nuclear medicine systems while supporting customer satisfaction and learning from experienced technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, field modification instructions, and service bulletins on assigned medical equipment
• Troubleshoot and complete basic repairs independently and with senior field engineers
• Support equipment installations alongside experienced technicians
• Maintain service logs, order repair parts, and manage administrative documentation for customer accounts
• Communicate with customers regarding service issues and recommend value-added services to enhance operations

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electrical, biomedical, or mechanical engineering; or equivalent military education or high school diploma with 2+ years electronic equipment service experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and web-based applications
• Valid driver's license and legal work authorization in the United States
• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs frequently; bend, stoop, climb, and maintain various postures for extended periods
• Willingness to work rotating on-call schedule including weekends and second shift as needed
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for training and business requirements

Compensation: $72,000–$108,000 annual base
