Administrative Clerk - Patrol and Enforcement - District 4 - Cave Creek

About the Position Do you have a desire to help others and make a positive impact in your community? The Administrative Clerk provides a wide variety of general clerical and administrative support for the district. Regular interactions with the general public and employees occur. Tasks performed are typically routine in nature and instruction or assistance is received as new or unusual situations arise. Position Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: One (1) year of clerical experience OR combined education and experience qualifications, with post‑secondary experience considered in substitution for the required minimum experience. Other requirements: Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one by the time of hire. Training that may be provided on the job: Safety; Payroll; PREA. Background Review: All candidates must pass a background review prior to hiring. Preferred Candidate: Experience working in a law‑enforcement setting and RMS and TraCS data entry experience. Compensation and Benefits More than a salary: Growth and stability since 1871. Choice of three medical plans – starting as low as $70/month. Holidays – 10 per year plus one personal day. MCSO Mentoring program for personal and professional growth. Access to free County gyms. Essential Job Tasks Prepares, types, and proofreads basic forms, letters, or memoranda. Enters and tracks computer database applications. Enters payroll time into HRIS payroll system. Performs routine clerical work, including filing, billing, verifying, and recording information. Schedules appointments. Provides customer service by telephone, e‑mail, and in person. Compiles and maintains division data for statistical reports. Files and disseminates correspondence, reports, and mail. Updates briefing board and policy manuals. Inventories, orders, and stocks supplies for the district. Attends meetings, takes notes, generates reports, and distributes to appropriate personnel. Drives to other departments to deliver mail, reports, or other items as needed. Performs additional duties as directed by the chain of command. Maintains good attendance and completes tasks as assigned/scheduled by the supervisor. Working Conditions The work occurs primarily indoors, in MCSO jail facilities with various staff and all classifications of inmates. Conditions may rarely include chemical fumes, smoke/dust, wet/damp areas, confined spaces, stairs or ladders, high noise levels, dim or bright lighting, and exposure to contagious diseases. Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, seeing, reading, bending or kneeling, reaching, crouching, precise dexterity, lifting floor to waist (30lb), waist to shoulder (30lb), shoulder to overhead (30lb), carrying 30lb for 30ft, and pushing or pulling 30lb for 10ft. Social environment involves frequent interruptions, time pressures, high volume of work, handling multiple or complicated tasks, frequent changes or unscheduled tasks, accuracy demands, teamwork, close physical proximity with others, traumatic subject matter, decision making, concentration or vigilance, public contact, emergencies or dangerous environments, isolation, overtime, and rotating shifts. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of basic to intermediate level grammar, spelling, and punctuation; standard office practices and procedures; Microsoft Suite applications; computer applications including spreadsheets, data, and word processing software; operating standard office equipment; ability to interpret and explain rules and regulations; professional interaction with the general public; establishing and maintaining successful working relationships; communicating effectively in verbal and written formats.
