Shipping Attendant (SLC)

Shipping Attendant On-site – Salt Lake City, Utah Pay: $22.50 per hour and up, depending on experience Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:30 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Position Overview The Shipping Attendant is an entry-level position in the Shipping department. The attendant unloads incoming shipments of returned reels, counts parts, maintains inventory accuracy, and provides backup to the Shipping Technician and Inventory Control Specialist. The attendant prepares and loads outgoing shipments of finished products, transports materials and finished products to appropriate departments or storage locations, and assists in building reels as needed. Responsibilities Unload incoming shipments and distribute to proper storage locations. Load and coordinate outgoing shipments. Route items to appropriate departments, if required. Examine outgoing shipments for product defects. Assemble and package products/materials for shipment—wrap and add protection per standard work instructions. Label identifying information and shipping instructions on boxes, reels or containers and ensure proper documentation for shipments. Assist the Shipping Technician with inventory control and cycle counts. Follow all company-standard and position-specific safety requirements, and report unsafe working conditions or broken equipment. Follow and comply with all company policies and procedures. Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications Minimum 1-year manufacturing/warehouse experience. Experience loading and unloading flatbed trailers (a plus). Forklift experience required (forklift certification is a plus). Ability to perform simple math for inventory and cycle counts. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English; bilingual considered a plus. Occupational and Physical Requirements Understanding of paperwork procedures and documentation requirements. Commitment to wearing required PPE at all times. Commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly work area at all times. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to spend up to 12 hours a shift on foot around hot machinery. Ability to move between areas by stepping over, bending under objects, and pushing and pulling objects. Compensation and Benefits Summary The compensation for this position is typically $22.50 per hour. The base pay offered will depend on multiple factors including knowledge/skills, experience, location, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include short- and long‑term incentive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package with health coverage, a 401(k), paid holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave, disability leave, and an employee assistance program.
