Join Our Pediatric Orthopedic Team

Our organization is seeking three full-time surgeons to enhance and expand our pediatric orthopedic program:

• General Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon
• Pediatric Spine Surgeon
• Pediatric Upper Extremity/Hand Surgeon

About Our Practice

We provide specialized care for children up to 18 years old, ensuring that services are accessible regardless of financial circumstances or insurance coverage. Our core values include compassion, integrity, accountability, innovation, evidence-based practices, education, and research.

Practice Structure

Surgeons will dedicate approximately 80-90% of their clinical hours to their specific area of expertise, with the remaining 10-20% allocated to general pediatric orthopedics based on patient needs and subspecialty focus.

A typical week consists of:

• Two dedicated operating room days
• Two full clinic days
• One flexible day for administrative tasks, program development, research, or other non-clinical activities

Operating room time is assigned based on subspecialty requirements and patient volume. Our surgeons collaborate within a care model that includes Physical and Occupational Therapy, Pediatric Orthotics and Prosthetics Services, and a team of Advanced Practice Providers.

On-call duties are shared on a rotating basis and are home-based, with no trauma or emergency responsibilities. Outreach clinics are primarily managed by Advanced Practice Providers, allowing surgeons to concentrate on onsite surgical and clinical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and create treatment plans for pediatric patients with orthopedic and musculoskeletal issues
• Deliver evidence-based surgical and non-surgical interventions
• Oversee preoperative, postoperative, inpatient, and outpatient care
• Conduct surgical procedures adhering to institutional safety protocols
• Collaborate with pediatricians, physiatrists, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and other specialists
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, peer reviews, and clinical governance
• Maintain precise and timely clinical documentation
• Contribute to medical education, research, and scholarly activities as appropriate
• Meet established productivity, quality, and institutional performance benchmarks

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• An MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency
• Board certification or eligibility through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery
• Eligibility for active, unrestricted medical licensure in Missouri
• Eligibility for active DEA registration
• BLS for Healthcare Providers and PALS certification
• Eligibility for hospital credentialing and clinical privileges
• Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills
• The ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary care setting

Fellowship Training Requirements

• General Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon: Completion of an accredited pediatric orthopedic fellowship is mandatory.
• Pediatric Spine Surgeon: Completion of both pediatric orthopedic and pediatric spine fellowships is required.
• Pediatric Upper Extremity/Hand Surgeon: Completion of an upper extremity or hand fellowship is essential. Additional fellowship training in pediatric orthopedic surgery is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience

We prefer candidates with one to three years of post-fellowship or equivalent pediatric orthopedic experience. Recent fellowship graduates will also be considered based on their training and clinical exposure.

Compensation

The annual salary range for each position is between $421,808.40 and $703,014 . Compensation is based on relevant experience and departmental equity.
