Join our team and bring your best self to the table. What You Will Be Doing You will administer IT support for Safeway stores in Sacramento, CA and surrounding areas. Responsibilities include deploying equipment, installing new hardware and software, and maintaining computers, printers, POS systems, scales, and network servers. You will also troubleshoot and configure various pieces of IT hardware unique to retail, conduct break‑fix repairs, and support store directors to run best‑in‑class retail grocery stores. Main Responsibilities Support standard hardware platforms and systems installed throughout Safeway. Repair approved standard technology hardware, including PC/Server hardware, network hardware, RF hardware, and printers. Provide complete recoverability of systems and applications. Drive trouble‑shoot resolution. Install new hardware and software. Provide IT support to customers and meet goals for service level agreements. Provide network and remote connectivity (hardware/software) support. Maintain equipment inventory controls and policies. Work with Support Center (STSC) on assignment of problems, support issues and concerns with computer systems. Interface with all Corporate IT groups for on‑site support and technology resolutions. Adhere to repair standards and service levels established. Drive and travel as required for the Zone Service Area; up to 50% travel.> What We Are Searching For Excellent telephone, customer service and problem‑solving skills with the ability to gather important information to resolve high‑pressure issues/situations in remote locations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to present technical information effectively to customers. Working knowledge of IT hardware, installation models and Windows, MS Office, and related applications. Demonstrated ability to work independently and be a strong collaborative partner in a matrixed organization. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, day, evening and overnight, as well as on‑call support capacity. Strong sense of urgency, business ethics, dependability and follow‑through. We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: High school graduate; BA/BS degree preferred; or 3+ years of technical/training/hardware certifications preferred. Information Technology project implementation exposure with 5+ years of technical systems experience and 2+ years of technical support experience. 2+ years’ experience with retail store systems, technology systems and hardware preferred. 2+ years’ experience with installation and configuration of desktop and peripheral technology preferred. Must have a good, safe driving record and a reliable vehicle for this position. Physical Environment Work may be performed in a temperature‑controlled environment. Must sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time. May spend long periods at a desk or computer terminal. Will use keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday. \ Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties. Workday is fast‑paced; some evening and weekend work may be required. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment, some twisting and turning with equipment installs.
