Community Outreach Manager

Overview The Analyst III, Community Outreach Specialist, serves as a highly skilled Department specialist on outreach and community engagement for the Office of Community Awareness, Response, and Engagement (CARE) within the California Department of Justice (DOJ). CARE works directly with community organizations, state and local elected officials, and members of the public to help ensure the inclusion of diverse perspectives in the state's work. Specifically, CARE focuses on cultivating relationships with historically marginalized and underrepresented communities in line with DOJ's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of its work on behalf of the people of California, including in the fight for environmental, economic, and social justice. Responsibilities The Analyst III is responsible for establishing and building relationships through outreach and engagement with community-based organizations, local and state agencies, faith-based groups, and external stakeholders and constituencies. The Analyst III will independently develop and manage CARE programs in support of the Attorney General’s initiatives, which includes planning and developing outreach strategies; identifying and analyzing data and trends related to the Attorney General’s initiatives, and developing solutions and available resources. Program assignments may change to adjust to the Attorney General’s initiative priorities. The Analyst III will collaborate regularly with Executive Office staff and senior department management. Working Conditions This position has been designated as eligible for telework and is currently a remote-centered position. The position may however require in-person attendance when requested. The selected candidate would report to Department of Justice office in San Diego when required to attend mandated in-person meetings, trainings, etc. Expenses related to travel to the office for required events are the responsibility of the employee. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.
