Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of students, implementing appropriate interventions and follow-up actions as required.

• Design individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique emotional and psychological needs of each student, integrating evidence-based practices tailored to their specific situations.

• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster student participation and encourage peer support dynamics.

• Collaborate effectively with educators, school psychologists, parents, and other professionals, ensuring a coordinated approach to support the student's well-being.

• Educate families about mental health issues, promoting understanding and involving them in the recovery process to enhance the students' support systems.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential client records adhering to federal regulations and ethical standards, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting of progress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this role is to support students from diverse backgrounds and various age groups, typically ranging from elementary through high school. Given the dynamic and sometimes challenging circumstances within educational environments, counselors will work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and other mental health concerns that impact learning.

Qualifications\n

• A valid and current license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field, with a strong preference for candidates holding a master’s or doctoral degree.

• Demonstrated expertise or specialized training in mental health counseling, particularly within a school-based setting.
\n
• Strong proficiency in evidence-based practices applicable to a wide range of mental health disorders, with an emphasis on youth interventions.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster strong therapeutic relationships and enable impactful communication with students of varying ages.

• Effective collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring a holistic approach to care.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of direct counseling experience, preferably in a school or youth-oriented setting.

• Experience working with students with special educational and psychological needs.

• Familiarity with virtual therapy tools and methodology for delivering effective remote counseling.
