RN, Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Overview The PACU RN position at Mount Carmel East involves caring for surgical patients in a 15‑bay unit with a 2:1 nurse‑to‑patient ratio. The role requires 12‑hour shifts Monday through Friday (9:00–21:30) with occasional weekend and night on‑call. The RN will work within the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and collaborate with surgeons and anesthesia to deliver patient‑centered, evidence‑based care. Responsibilities Provide nursing care and promote an environment of patient safety. Utilize evidence‑based practice and participate in quality initiatives in line with the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program. Assess and evaluate patient care for an assigned group of patients using evidence‑based practice. Collaborate with patients and families to develop and implement a plan of care that includes physical, spiritual and educational components. Communicate pertinent information to team members in a timely manner and keep patient/family apprised. Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes according to documentation standards, policies, and procedures. Assume responsibility and accountability for care provided and documented by other licensed and unlicensed caregivers as appropriate. Qualifications Graduate from a school of nursing. Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Ohio. For casual RNs, 2 years of experience required. All new graduate nurses with less than one year of clinical experience are subject to participate in the Nurse Residency Program.
