Registered Nurse (RN) - OR General Surgery

Location Charlotte Hungerford Hospital (10115) Shift Details This position requires four 8‑hour shifts per week, with an on‑call rotation that typically includes one overnight per week and one weekend on‑call every 7‑8 weeks. Responsibilities Registered Nurses provide direct and indirect patient care based on assigned areas, following the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, documentation, and evaluation) and nursing department philosophies, policies, and procedures. They develop individualized education and care plans for each patient, support family members, and supervise ancillary staff using judgment and understanding of patient and family needs. Nurses ensure customer satisfaction, maintain patient confidentiality, and address age‑specific needs for comfort, privacy, and general care. Incumbents annually complete competency requirements for their area of responsibility. Qualifications Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
