Note: Must have an active New York bar license and at least 1 year of directly relevant insurance defense experience. We are seeking an associate with 3+ years of total experience and strong competence in insurance liability matters.

Job Description

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense and general liability matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze liability issues, claims, pleadings, discovery, and case strategy.
• Draft pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and apply relevant New York law to active matters.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, insurance professionals, and other stakeholders.
• Assist with depositions, court appearances, hearings, and other litigation activities as appropriate.
• Track deadlines, case developments, and litigation strategy with strong attention to detail.
• Work closely with senior attorneys and the litigation team to move matters forward efficiently.

Qualifications

• Active New York bar license.
• 3+ years of experience as an attorney.
• At least 1 year of insurance defense experience.
• Strong understanding of insurance liability and general liability matters.
• Excellent legal writing, research, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and competing priorities.
• Trial experience is valued but not required.
