About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU/Telemetry with medical/surgical trauma/critical patients. License: Current KY or Compact license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: - Level One Trauma experience required. - Teaching hospital experience required. - Ability to work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per schedule period. - RTO requests for the first 2 weeks on assignment are limited to single days off. - Must be available to work the full schedule without conflicts. - Expected to work 3 out of 5 Winter holidays. Description: This position requires Level One Trauma experience. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of ICU or Telemetry experience with medical, surgical trauma, or critical patients. Teaching hospital experience is essential. First-time travelers will be accepted only if they possess Level One Trauma experience. BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications must be in hand prior to starting. Local travelers residing within 100 miles are not eligible for this position. Candidates will be required to float within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals nearby. Patient age groups include adults with a daily census of approximately 44. Patient diagnoses may include sepsis, GI bleed, DKA, multi-system organ failure, pneumonia, overdose, respiratory failure, and acute renal failure. Special procedures may require travel to imaging departments. This position has an average patient ratio of 2:1 during days and nights. Compliance requirements include various competency exams related to ICU and trauma care. Candidates should be aware of any previous employment status with the facility prior to submission.
