CNC Lathe Operator

Compensation: $25.00-$32.00 per hour + 10% shift premium Tree Top Staffing is recruiting an experienced CNC Lathe Operator for a full-time, second-shift opportunity with an established precision manufacturing organization in Rockford, Illinois. The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components in accordance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role supports production efficiency by ensuring accurate machining, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining safe and organized work areas. Set up and operate CNC lathe machines, including loading materials, tooling, and fixtures Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CNC programs Load, edit, and run CNC lathe programs as required Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain tolerances Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean work area Identify and report machining issues, defects, or equipment concerns Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and housekeeping requirements Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and other production team members Qualifications & Requirements: Skills Knowledge of CNC lathe operations and turning processes Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Proficiency with precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective problem-solving and time-management skills Physical Demands Ability to stand for extended periods of time Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity required for machine operation and inspection tasks Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts High noise levels from operating machines Exposure to fumes, dust, and mist Exposure to oils and cutting fluids Education: High School Diploma/GED required Experience: Manufacturing experience preferred; CNC lathe or turning experience strongly preferred Reading Ability: Must be able to read and understand English #J-18808-Ljbffr
