Assistant Athletic Trainer

Position Summary In this part-time role, you will assist the Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists at RBNY in the delivery of treatment and rehabilitation of all Academy players. Additionally, you will assist the Athletic Trainers and Physical Therapists in the implementation of injury reduction screening protocols and the delivery of their individual programs. Responsibilities Provide on field medical coverage during Academy training sessions and matches as assigned. Assist with the assessment of new injuries on the field of play and in the treatment room. Initiate communication chain of initial findings to athletic trainers and physical therapists, and when appropriate communicate findings to coaching staff, fitness staff, and team physician. Assist in the creation and execution of short, medium and long term rehabilitation plans for players as assigned. Assist in the development and delivery of individualized injury reduction measures within the RB2 setting. Assist in the creation and execution of end stage rehab testing and assist performance staff with execution of return to play programming when appropriate. Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Athletic Training NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer Strong communications skills Experience with evaluation and treatment of lower extremity injury Flexible schedule for both weekday and weekend coverage The ability to regularly lift up to 75lbs, in addition to being physically capable of performing general athletic training duties You must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
