The Behavioral Health Program Assistant at Homeless Solutions supports the daily operation of HSI's Behavioral Health Program through administrative coordination, documentation, program logistics, client engagement, and assistance with behavioral health and wellness activities. This full-time, on-site, hourly role reports to the Behavioral Health Counselor.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain client data and case notes in agency databases.Collaborate with staff to identify and share community and behavioral health resources for shelter clients.Participate in team meetings and coordinate with external providers regarding behavioral health services and programming.Scan and manage confidential documents for Behavioral Health Counselors.Coordinate and process in-kind donations with the Volunteer Manager/Program Associate and assist with inventory replenishment.Provide backup support to Residential Support Staff for behavioral health-related services, including transportation and medication procedure compliance.Support established medication monitoring procedures, including observing, counting, recording, and reporting discrepancies, in accordance with HSI policy and under appropriate supervision.Assist the Behavioral Health Counselor with scheduling, documenting, and implementing individualized safety plans under the Counselor's direction.Coordinate and schedule Mental Health and Wellness events and programming.Provide transportation to relevant appointments in the agency van.Assist with conducting Drug & Alcohol Testing.Assist guests with behavioral-health-related needs and agreed-upon program activities within the scope of the position and as directed by the supervisor.Other ResponsibilitiesExhibit strong personal accountability and awareness of and adherence to company standards, policies, procedures, and processes in all aspects of employment with HSI.Be flexible and adaptive, respond professionally to evolving programmatic and facility needs.Willing and able to attend off-site meetings/events as needed.Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with clients and colleagues.Represent the programs and services of HSI in a positive and professional manner through both internal and external communication and in person collaboration.Participate in professional development activities and share knowledge with other team members.Maintain program spaces in an orderly condition and complete light cleaning associated with daily program use. Report broader custodial or facility needs through established procedures.Communicate issues, concerns, or recommendations regarding clients or operational issues to supervisor.Communicate regularly and clearly to all Programs and Services staff, in order to ensure the seamless provision of services.Collaborate and communicate regularly with Programs and Services staff to support the consistent delivery of services.Qualifications/SkillsAssociate degree, bachelor's degree, or current enrollment in behavioral health, social work, psychology, human services, public health, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health conditions, substance-use disorders, or other complex needs strongly preferred.Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive behavioral-health and client information appropriately.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.Minimum 2 years of administrative, residential, human-services, or behavioral health experience preferred.Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with administrative functions and Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook and Excel.Ability to follow established clinical and operational protocols, recognize when supervisory support is needed, and respond calmly in urgent situations.Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.Full time permanent staff of Homeless Solutions are eligible to enroll in company sponsored medical, dental and life insurance coverage plans in accordance with HSI policies.
