Key Responsibilities:Advise and counsel all levels within the company’s North America team and Aveda business, including senior leadership, to identify critical legal issues, assess potential legal options, and provide individuals and teams with an analysis and range of possible legal solutionsStructure, draft, negotiate, and/or review a variety of commercial contracts, such as retailer agreements, distribution agreements, amenities agreements, pure play ecommerce agreements, and franchisingStrive for work efficiency with solution to build or improve operation processCollaborate with legal and business subject matter experts to advise on cross-functional projectsAssist with due diligence for potential acquisitions and assist with integration matters for newly acquired brandsCollaborate on litigation matters related to commercial activityQualificationsQualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) degree; licensed or eligible to practice in New York8+ years of experience, including law firm and ideally in-house counsel experienceFluent in both written and conversational EnglishStrong ability to think strategically and creatively to resolve matters effectively and efficiently and to build strong collaborative relationships with senior management, as well as business leaders and other colleagues in various functionsExcellent legal and business judgment; a high degree of discretion; and excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skillsSomeone who strives for excellence in execution and follow through, including excellent transactional drafting and negotiation skillsAbility to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, adapt to changing conditions, and execute in a complex matrixed environmentExperience within the cosmetics industry or consumer products industry, not required but desirablePay Range:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $154,000.00 to $264,750.00. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program as well as participation in the share incentive plan.
