HR Specialist - Bilingual Mandarin

Post job ads on job boards and social media platforms Screen resumes and job applications Assist with background and reference checks Help prepare job offer letters Support recruitment events such as job fairs and career expos Manage preboarding, orientation, new-hire paperwork, workstation setup, computer logins, and email addresses Schedule policy meetings and provide employee handbooks Serve as the primary contact for new employee inquiries Maintain employee records, including personal details, contracts, performance evaluations, and benefits documentation Collect and organize employment and tax information Assist with exit interviews and termination documentation Manage compensation and benefits documentation Process payroll tasks, sick leave, and PTO Resolve payroll errors and handle related inquiries Assist with payroll and benefits reconciliations, audits, and payment approvals Process compliance service requests and maintain compliance records and tracking tools Escalate complex compliance issues to Compliance Specialists Support performance improvement plans, reassignments, suspensions, resignations, retirements, and employee exits Send mandatory-retirement separation notices Provide departing employees with documentation and process final or severance payments Handle post-separation queries Handle employee grievances and complaints Collect and process incident reports Collaborate with Legal on Notices to Explain Arrange administrative hearings and document meeting minutes Prepare and deliver decision notices and maintain offense records Requirements 1 year of proven recruiting or HR internship/work experience Strong knowledge of labor laws and hiring regulations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with an ATS (Workable, LinkedIn Recruiter) Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite Notion and Slack is a plus Candidates who are not already local must be able and willing to relocate to Cary, NC Mandarin bilingual proficiency required by the job title Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in recruitment processes, including job posting, resume screening, and onboarding.
