About the Position

Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: October 12, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract. Floating to other units as needed. Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available.

Highlights:

• 41-bed medical/surgical telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Comprehensive case mix including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, CVA, and post-surgical patients
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• Extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of experience

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical and telemetry nursing experience
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in remote telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV protocols (insulin, heparin), wound care including wound vacs, respiratory support (high flow nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP), blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, IV starts, PCA pumps, chest tube management, colostomy and feeding tube care, and hemodialysis management
• Experience with isolation precautions and COVID patient care
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Ability and willingness to work during catastrophic events, mass casualty situations, or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team
