Facilities Maintenance TechnicianThis short-term contract role offers an opportunity to work on-site in an assembly department, performing hands-on corrective maintenance on carts and tuggers within a plant environment. You will use your mechanical, hydraulic, and minor electrical skills to keep material handling equipment operating safely and efficiently while supporting daily production needs.ResponsibilitiesPerform corrective maintenance on carts and tuggers used in the plant's assembly department.Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical components to ensure equipment operates safely and reliably.Work with hydraulic systems to diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.Carry out minor electrical work, including working with contact relays and related components.Replace casters, rollers, and other wear components on carts and tuggers as needed.Use battery-powered drills and other hand and power tools to perform maintenance and repair tasks.Read and interpret blueprints or equipment documentation to guide maintenance and repair activities.Conduct maintenance repair and troubleshooting on mechanical, pneumatic, and related systems.Follow established maintenance procedures and document work performed as required.Adhere to OSHA safety guidelines and company safety policies while working on-site.Collaborate with on-site personnel to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize equipment downtime.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the assembly and maintenance spaces.Essential SkillsProven experience in facilities or equipment maintenance, with a focus on corrective maintenance.Hands-on experience with cart maintenance and tugger maintenance in a plant or industrial environment.Strong mechanical aptitude, including experience with mechanical repair and tool maintenance.Ability to work with hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic components.Experience with minor electrical work, including working with contact relays.Proficiency using battery-powered drills and other common hand and power tools.Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical documentation.Experience with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance repair of mechanical and pneumatic systems.Knowledge of OSHA safety practices and the ability to work safely in an industrial setting.Reliability and flexibility to work a first-shift schedule from Tuesday through Sunday.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in a plant or manufacturing assembly environment.Background in facilities maintenance or industrial maintenance roles.Familiarity with tugger operations and material handling equipment.OSHA 10 certification or similar safety training is highly beneficial.Comfort participating in a virtual interview process.Ability to quickly adapt to a short-term contract environment with potential for extension.Why Work Here?You will work in a climate-controlled facility that offers a comfortable and safe environment while you apply and grow your hands-on maintenance skills. The environment involves regular use of hand tools, battery-powered drills, and equipment related to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and minor electrical systems. You will work around production and material handling operations, following OSHA safety guidelines and site-specific safety procedures. The setting is industrial and structured, with clear schedules and expectations typical of a plant-based maintenance role.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Madison, AL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
