Precision Hand Soldering Technician for PCBs

Job Summary The Soldering Technician is responsible for performing hand soldering and rework on electronic assemblies in accordance with work instructions, quality standards, and production schedules. This role ensures high-quality solder joints and reliable electronic products through precise workmanship and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities Perform hand soldering of electronic components (through-hole and/or surface-mount) Assemble, modify, and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs) Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and schematics Inspect solder joints to IPC or company quality standards Use soldering irons, hot air tools, and other hand tools safely and effectively Identify and report defects, nonconformances, or process issues Maintain a clean and organized workstation Follow ESD, safety, and quality procedures Meet production schedules and quality requirements Document work performed as required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous soldering experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment preferred IPC-A-610 and/or IPC-J-STD-001 certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Ability to solder small components with precision Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination Ability to read technical documentation and follow detailed instructions Attention to detail and commitment to quality Work Environment Electronics manufacturing or production floor. Use of soldering equipment, magnification tools, and ESD-protected workstations.
