Project Manager II – Specialty Concrete Infrastructure ProjectsSuperior Skilled Trades is seeking a Project Manager II for a direct hire opportunity supporting specialty concrete infrastructure and prestressed tank construction projects. This is a mid-to-senior level leadership role responsible for managing multiple active construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and financial performance.The Project Manager II will coordinate closely with field teams, superintendents, subcontractors, owners, and internal departments including Engineering, Procurement, Safety, Accounting, and Administration. This role requires strong leadership, advanced project controls experience, and the ability to manage complex infrastructure projects in fast-paced field environments.ResponsibilitiesDevelop full understanding of contract documents including drawings, specifications, and addendaEnsure project execution aligns with safety, quality, scope, and schedule requirementsPrepare and manage project startup packages including budgets, job cost setup, and execution planningDevelop and maintain CPM schedules, including updates, revisions, and look-ahead planningCoordinate with drafting teams on shop drawings, formwork drawings, and construction detailingReview shop drawings for compliance with contract requirements and specificationsManage submittal processes with subcontractors and purchasing to ensure timely approvalsPrepare, transmit, and track all submittal packages throughout the project lifecycleReview bills of materials, purchase orders, and work orders for procurement approvalConduct site visits during mobilization and active construction phases as requiredLead internal preconstruction meetings and ensure project readinessReview weekly job cost reporting (EPIR/CCTS) for accuracy and performance trackingPresent cost and schedule updates during monthly WIP meetingsOversee field coordination including safety inspections, QA/QC inspections, pre-pour meetings, testing requirements, and job cost trackingManage production tracking, unit quantities, T&M reporting, and budget/schedule adjustmentsMaintain regular communication with Superintendents regarding field progress and constraintsManage change orders, delays, and contractual coordination with owners, GCs, and subcontractorsEnsure timely project closeout including O&M manuals, as-builts, warranties, and punch list completionLead post-project review and internal performance evaluation meetingsParticipate in monthly department meetings and support assigned initiativesSupport continuous improvement and professional development effortsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience3+ years of Project Management experience or equivalent construction leadership experienceStrong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documentsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Valid driver's license with clean driving record and insurabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong scheduling, submittal, and document control experienceAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsConcrete, civil, or infrastructure construction experience strongly preferredOSHA 30 Certification preferredProficiency with MS Project or scheduling softwareProficiency with BluebeamExperience with Autodesk DWF ComposerPMI-CP Certification a plusFirst Aid / CPR / AED certification a plusKey CompetenciesStrong leadership and ability to manage complex field operationsHighly organized with strong attention to detailStrong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize and execute under pressure across multiple projectsStrong interpersonal skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teamsProfessional communication and customer service mindsetAbility to learn and implement new construction technologies and systemsWillingness to complete hands-on training in prestressed concrete tank construction methods
