Key Responsibilities Drive sales and meet store goals by selling furniture, accessories, and services. Promote the Design program and assist the designer to reach sales objectives. Execute the company selling process, build rapport, discover needs, present customized portfolios, handle objections, close deals, and provide ongoing service. Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain strong knowledge of product features and benefits. Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs. Support all design‑related functions in the store. Provide excellent customer service, follow‑up, and resolution of complaints via phone and email. Assist in training, coaching, and developing new peers in product knowledge and selling skills. Promote a culture of sales and service within the team. Maintain the visual appearance of the store, including displays, tags, catalogs, and floor moves. Accurately record orders, deposits, fees, and customer information. Complete daily system logs and maintain customer records. Schedule deliveries and handle opening and closing of the store. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Previous selling experience with a strong ability to close sales. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence positively. Demonstrated persuasion and negotiation skills. Effective time management and ability to handle conflicting priorities. \l Team player with strong collaboration skills. Willingness to work the required schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to pass a background and drug screen. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Physical Demands Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods. Use of repetitive hand motions, hearing, and listening. Inability to carry work to an indoor environment. Compensation Base pay starts at $13 per hour, varying by location. Combines base, uncapped commission (3% on La‑Z‑Boy Design sales and 2% on other sales), and quarterly bonuses of $0–$1,500 based on individual goals. Training period: $16 per hour for 2–6 weeks (no commission). Average earnings after training range from $36,000 to $60,000 per year. Total compensation range: $22,880–$75,000+ (not below the applicable minimum wage).
