Project Engineer F-16 (Level 4)

You will serve as a Project Engineer for an F-16 and/or T-50/FA-50 retrofit or production program. You will own day-to-day execution of engineering performance, cost, and schedule.

In this role, you will work across multiple engineering disciplines to integrate hardware, software, and systems upgrades into operational aircraft, ensuring technical solutions are technically sound, executable, and aligned with program objectives.

You will act as the focal point between specialty engineering teams, program management, and leadership. You will translate requirements into actionable engineering plans, managing technical risk, and driving issues to resolution. This position offers broad exposure to aircraft modernization.

What You Will Be Doing

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the day-to-day engineering execution for assigned programs, ensuring performance, cost, and schedule are met.

• Identify issues, risks, and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies to proactively manage technical and execution challenges.

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions across avionics, software, structures, and systems.

• Serve as the prime technical point of contact for complex projects of varying scale and scope, driving issues to resolution and maintaining leadership awareness.

• Coordinate engineering scope across specialty teams, managing dependencies and integration risks.

• Learn and execute established program and engineering processes, while identifying and implementing improvements that enable team efficiency and execution quality.

• Some travel will be required (foreign and/or domestic) for this role.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

• 5 or more years of engineering experience.

• Experience or exposure to project execution, systems integration, or technical leadership responsibilities, such as: Project Engineering, Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, Project Management, Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Product Lead, Technical Lead, Verification & Validation (V&V), or similar roles.

• Secret or above security clearance.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Desired skills

• Experience using Jira (or similar Engineering Project Management tool) to plan and execute work.

• Experience with proposal work and the execution of programs and projects.

• Experience with Systems engineering.

• Possess excellent customer relationship and leadership skills.

• Experience with Risk & Opportunity Management.

• Possess verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $104,500 - $184,115. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $120,100 - $208,150. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
