The Role This role will sit in our San Francisco office with an in-office requirement of four days a week. The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys within the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice and assist in all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate will assist with a wide range of responsibilities across both small and large‑scale cases, as well as other complex matters. These responsibilities may include handling large volumes of documents, preparing materials for production, assisting with depositions, and managing pleadings, privilege logs, and court filings in both state and federal courts. Responsibilities This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early‑career legal professional interested in gaining hands‑on litigation experience in a collaborative law firm environment. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and a collaborative approach to effectively prioritize and manage multiple cases and projects. Responsibilities include the following: Assist with organizing, maintaining, and managing electronic and hard-copy case files Support attorneys with the preparation, proofreading, and filing of legal documents in state and federal courts Assist with cite‑checking, fact‑checking, and formatting briefs and court filings Compile exhibits, appendices, and supporting documents for filings, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials Conduct basic factual and legal research using Westlaw and other online resources Track case deadlines and maintain litigation calendars Assist with document collection, review, and production processes Help prepare privilege logs and maintain litigation support databases Coordinate with attorneys, staff, clients, and third parties to obtain and organize case‑related information Provide administrative and logistical support for depositions, hearings, trials, and other litigation events Assist with electronic filing through state and federal court filing systems Perform other duties and special projects as assigned On occasion, travel to various courthouses and other agencies to file, retrieve, and deliver paper copies of documents. Key Skills And Experience Strong academic credentials; B.A required; 0-2 years of legal, paralegal, internship, or related professional experience Travel and overtime may be necessary Must possess strong technical skills and have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with iManage; WestLaw, and Lexis+ preferred Demonstrated interest in litigation or the legal profession Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong proofreading and analytical skills Strong research, drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues Ability to work well independently, as well as within a team environment Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, form and style For California, the expected salary range for this position is between $67,000 and $88,000.
