Under the direction of the Supervisor I of the Training Unit, under the Integrity, Training, and County Support Bureau, Program Quality and improvement Branch (PQIB), the incumbent's primary responsibility is to support the training initiatives of the Branch. The incumbent will be tasked with ensuring the clear and consistent delivery of new concepts, emergent trends and topics requiring further clarification to a wide range of child care providers. The incumbent will provide the necessary knowledge and guidance to enable effective implementation and travel statewide to provide these training services. The incumbent must have the ability to effectively communicate complex information, adapt training approaches to diverse audiences, and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

This work location is very convenient! The CDSS is located two blocks from the light rail and public transportation: within walking distance to the State Capitol, parks, restaurants, farmer's markets and the Golden 1 Arena. Our building has easy access to I-5, Highway 50, and Highway 80.
This position is eligible for hybrid work in accordance with the Governor's Executive Order N-22-25 and at the sole discretion of the Department of Social Services under California Government Code Section 14200. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be re-evaluated at any time. The incumbent will be expected to report for in office work and attend work related in-person events as deemed operationally necessary. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the CDSS policies. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Experience conducting training in-person and in remote environments
- Ability to oversee multiple projects at one time
- Ability to review and structure training material
- Experience in child care and development programs/experience with subsidized child care
- Experience with data analysis to determine trends and identification of future training opportunities for development
- Experience with Zoom and Microsoft Teams in a facilitation capacity
