We are searching for a Senior Sourcing Specialist to join our team.Position DescriptionOklo is seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to lead complex sourcing and purchasing execution efforts across critical reactor modules and high-value hardware assemblies. This role owns competitive sourcing strategy execution for technically intensive components and serves as a key commercial interface with strategic suppliers.This position reports to the Senior Procurement Manager and partners closely with engineering, legal and program leadership to ensure cost, quality, capacity, and schedule objectives are achieved.This position may be based in Santa Clara, CA or remote within the United States.ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end execution of sourcing activities for complex assemblies and critical componentsDevelop and manage RFP packages, conduct detailed bid analysis, and drive supplier selection decisionsNegotiate pricing, commercial terms, and delivery schedules with suppliersIssue and manage purchase orders in alignment with program milestonesSupport should-cost analysis and cost-reduction initiativesIdentify supply risks and proactively drive mitigation plansPartner with Global Supply Managers and engineering teams to execute category strategiesDrive continuous improvement in supplier performance and responsivenessMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field5+ years of sourcing or supply chain experience in a hardware manufacturing environmentExperience leading sourcing for complex, highly engineered componentsStrong commercial negotiation skills and analytical capabilityAbility to interpret technical drawings and specificationsBonus QualificationsExperience in nuclear, aerospace, defense, semiconductor, automotive, or similarly regulated and high-reliability industriesWorking knowledge of nuclear ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC) requirements and associated Code Stamps (e.g., N, NPT, NA) and their impact on supplier qualification and fabricationExperience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) programsFamiliarity with supplier cost modeling and capacity planningExperience working in high-growth or vertically integrated hardware companiesAdditional ExpectationsPassionate about clean energyPassionate about making advanced fission a realityWilling and able to learn quicklyEager to work on a dynamic team, receive constructive feedback, and grow with usWilling to think differently and do things in new waysComfortable in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environmentExcited to think creatively, critically, and reflectively about the problems they are solving, while not leaning only on what has been done beforeWilling to propose novel and creative solutions to technical problemsAn excellent writer who can write in modern active voice, so make your cover letter compelling and write it well!Able to communicate technical content and results verballyTravel & Remote RequirementsOklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings.BenefitsOklo offers flexible time off, equity, competitive pay, 401k, health insurance, FSA, flexible work hours, and other benefits.Oklo ValuesCHOP: Oklo's ValuesCollaborationWe go further, together.
