ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

Take an active role and partner with the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day operation of the store. Manage all store operations in the absence of the Store Manager. Provide coaching, training, and development to the Store Employees. Ensure Customer/Donor needs are met by maintaining good Customer/Donor/Community relations; resolve complaints; and provide quick and efficient service. Communicate any personnel issues with Management, and issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations and goals in coordination with the HR Generalist/Coordinator and District Sales Manager. Maintain the store to ARC Merchandising Standards, ensuring adequate inventory levels. In the absence of the Store Manager, ensure that the Material Handlers are working effectively and efficiently to meet daily processing goals (Back Room Processing). Maintain an adequate amount of change at the beginning of each day, safeguarding cash in registers, safe, and banking cash receipts as per ARC policy. Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that safety measures are established and maintained in line with ARC policy and governmental regulations. Implement appropriate loss‑prevention measures. Perform any other written or verbal duties as assigned by Management, Retail Directors and Command Administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years of Retail Management/Supervisory experience. Ability to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions. Valid Driver’s license and proof of insurance. Pass a background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry. Excellent communication skills with management, employees, customers, and donors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file‑cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks. Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

SCHEDULE

Our stores operate 7 days per week. Work schedules are determined by Management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full‑time associates may be scheduled to work any full‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PAY RATE

$17.80 PH
