Global Business Development Manager – Cesium & Precision Timing Solutions Location: USA/Europe Company: Oscilloquartz – A Division of Adtran Role Overview We are seeking a Global Business Development Manager – Time and Frequency to lead the worldwide growth of our optical pumping cesium atomic clock portfolio across NMI, defense, data center, and emerging high‑precision timing markets. This is a strategic + execution role responsible for: Expanding cesium adoption into new verticals, Driving high‑value deals with Tier‑1 customers, Positioning cesium as a critical enabler of resilient, secure infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Define and execute the global go‑to‑market strategy for cesium‑based timing solutions. Identify and develop new business verticals, including AI data centers, space and satellite systems, financial trading infrastructure, critical infrastructure resilience, and defense & secure communications. Strategic positioning & thought leadership: Position cesium clocks vs. alternatives (GNSS‑dependent timing, Precision Time Protocol, Rubidium, and emerging quantum clocks) and develop value‑based messaging around holdover performance, network resiliency, and security (anti‑jamming / spoofing). Customer engagement & deal development: Engage directly with NMI and timing institutes, hyperscale cloud & AI infrastructure, defense agencies & integrators; own and deliver global revenue targets for the cesium portfolio; build and manage a qualified pipeline across regions; drive partner ecosystem alignment (system integrators, vendors). Cross‑functional leadership: Collaborate with product management, R&D teams, and regional sales teams; translate market needs into product and roadmap inputs. Required Qualifications 12 years of experience in Time and Frequency, time dissemination technologies, defense / aerospace / critical infrastructure. Strong understanding of NMI infrastructure (time scale, atomic clocks – cesium, rubidium), network synchronization (PTP, SyncE), and GNSS‑based timing architectures. Proven track record in global business development and opening new markets / verticals. Preferred Experience Experience with NMI and timing institutes. Knowledge of global navigation satellite system resilience strategies. Experience in AI / data center infrastructure timing. PhD in physics. Exposure to emerging timing technologies: quantum clocks, optical timing systems. Key Competencies Strategic thinking with execution discipline.
