Business Analyst – Advanced Excel

Middletown, CT Area | $34.85–$45.70 per hour | Temp-to-Hire

Schedule:  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM (Onsite in their Connecticut office)

A.R. Mazzotta Employment Specialists is seeking a Business Analyst with advanced Excel skills for a growing opportunity with a well-established client in the Middletown area. This role is ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working with complex data, identifying trends, and translating information into meaningful business insights.

Strong Excel expertise is essential. The successful candidate will be comfortable building and managing detailed spreadsheets, working with formulas and lookup functions, analyzing quantitative information, and preparing reports that support business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business and quantitative data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Excel spreadsheets used for reporting and analysis.
• Build and utilize complex formulas, PivotTables, lookup functions, and other advanced Excel tools to organize and interpret data.
• Compile, validate, and analyze information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and summaries that communicate findings and support business decisions.
• Research business and market information as needed.
• Manage multiple projects, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members to evaluate information and identify opportunities to improve processes and results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, financial analysis, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced Excel skills are required, including complex formulas, PivotTables, lookup functions such as XLOOKUP or VLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large or complex datasets and turn raw information into accurate, useful reports.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
