Responsibilities

Perform quality blood draws from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures.

Prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate labeling and proper handling of samples.

Verify patient demographic information and initials, and confirm correct labeling of specimens post-venipuncture.

Maintain detailed records and documentation of procedures and patient interactions.

Create a professional, safe, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Follow all safety, confidentiality, and institutional policies and procedures.

Perform duties independently with minimal supervision and adapt to high-volume, fast-paced settings.

Travel as needed to various patient service centers or in-office collection locations, including weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.

Demonstrate superior customer service skills with open communication and sensitivity to patient needs.

Required Skills

Proven phlebotomy skills with 1-3 years of experience performing venipuncture, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.

Excellent keyboard and data entry skills for documentation purposes.

Decisiveness and good judgment in following established procedures.

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

1-3 years of relevant phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, strongly preferred.

Experience working in a patient service center environment is highly advantageous.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if travel is involved.

Flexible scheduling availability, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to cover multiple locations as needed.

Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a high-volume setting.
