Job Title CSH Advance Practice Nurse Fellow - Pediatric Physiatry Location & Details Union, NJ 07083 (2840 Morris Ave.) Department: Administration‑Physicians Schedule: Day (M-F 8:00‑4:00) Compensation: $90,000.00 – $170,000.00 per year (or $90,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year for salaried positions) Job Overview The APN fellow is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for managing health problems and coordinating care for children in accordance with professional standards and hospital guidelines. The training includes an intensive 12‑month fellowship in Pediatric Physiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, integrated with the ACGME fellowship program and the Rutgers Boggs Center LEND Leadership Education. Graduates receive a certificate of completion from CSH. Responsibilities The fellowship will provide varied clinical and educational opportunities, including: Understanding complex developmental processes of infants, children, adolescents and young adults in the context of their families and communities. Understanding the biological, psychological, and social influences on development across emotional, social, motor, language, and cognitive domains. Identifying, diagnosing, and managing children with abnormal muscle tone or mobility impairment. Managing equipment use for children with mobility issues. The fellow will be a full‑time salaried employee, eligible for benefits, and will sign a three‑year contract (one year fellowship, two years post‑fellowship). Oversight is by the Lead APN, Chief Medical Officer, and Section Chief for Physiatry, with a primary preceptor who has completed a GME Physiatry program and is an experienced APN. Essential Job Functions Meet expectations of department staff positions and customer expectations. Apply diagnostic reasoning and support medical interventions through practice and documentation. Collaborate with the health care team to provide comprehensive, cost‑effective patient care. Assist in identifying and resolving ethical problems or dilemmas. Ensure continuity and completeness of care beyond basic needs. Incorporate relevant research findings into practice. Support professional growth for self and colleagues through training and orientation. Maintain credentials and continuing education per professional standards. Refer to policies and procedures that guide service provision. Develop cooperative relationships with colleagues and external contacts. Maintain a joint protocol specific to the clinical practice area and consult with collaborating physicians. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families to implement Patient and Family Centered Care practices. Participate in team meetings and conferences to enhance interdisciplinary care. Maintain accurate billing. Identify knowledge and skill needs through self‑assessment and competency evaluation. Complete the Pediatric Physiatry Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation APN Fellowship program requirements. Qualifications Master’s or Doctoral degree in nursing with a minimum 3.5 GPA. National board certification as an NP. NJ State RN license. NJ State APN license. CDS, DEA, and BLS certifications. New graduates considered; prior APN experience not required.
