Payroll Title: HOSP BLANK AST 3 Department: FAC PRAC PRIMARY CARE Hiring Pay Scale: $27.49 - $34.17 / Hour Worksite: Hillcrest Appointment Type: Career Appointment Percent: 100% Union: EX Contract Total Openings: 1 Work Schedule: Days, 8-Hour Shifts, Monday-Friday Filing Deadline: Thu 6/11/2026 Description Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, the Patient Service Representative provides front desk support by performing a variety of clerical and receptionist duties in support of daily patient services within clinical areas: greets patients, checks in and checks out for appointments, appointment scheduling, insurance and authorization verification, updating patient demographics and registration, disposition appointments, co-pay collection, managing/monitoring petty cash drawer, sorting incoming faxes and paperwork, assisting with sending outgoing faxes, scanning documents to medical records, preparing and sending letters, and working closely with Practice physicians, nurses, staff and other UCSD departments. Other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Three (3) years of recent (within last 5 years) front office experience in an ambulatory clinic within a large complex healthcare setting. Strong knowledge of third party payors including federal, state, and private health plans. Possess excellent customer service skills and ability to prioritize in-person patients and phone calls. Possess strong computer skills. Ability to work in an interactive environment. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Primary Care/Family Medicine/Internal Medicine experience. EPIC experience. Experience in a fast-paced, multi-specialty clinic. Authorization and registration experience. Special Conditions Must be able to work various locations based on business needs. Must be willing and able to float to other locations as requested. Possible overtime. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $57,399 - $71,347 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $27.49 - $34.17 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
