About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaint, utilizing all four phases of the nursing process
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team, adjusting interventions based on ongoing assessment findings
• Administer medications, perform wound care, manage IV therapy, and operate medical equipment while maintaining competent and safe delivery of care in accordance with hospital policies and professional guidelines
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including timely execution of discharge orders, patient and family education, and coordination with Case Management
• Delegate tasks appropriately to team members, monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated care, and organize workload effectively relative to patient acuity
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction initiatives, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, CAUTI reduction, and documentation auditing

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN) required
• Proficiency in administering medications and performing medical procedures including wound care and IV therapy
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking abilities, and capacity to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and patient/family education

• Recent cardiac step-down, PCU, or telemetry experience, ideally approximately 5 years
• Experience with post-cath/PCI recovery, femoral sheath management, and cardiac drip titration
• Background with GI oncology post-operative patients or chemotherapy administration
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
