Interpreter - Bilingual Spanish

Overview Interpreter - Bilingual Spanish (Regular Part-Time, Hourly) Program: Douglas Young Youth & Family Services (Central SD) Region: Central San Diego Services: Child and Family (CYF) Career Type: Administration Hours: 20 hours per week. Work schedule is Tuesday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Wednesday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and Thursday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Pay Rate: $26.44 to $26.71 per hour Education: High School/GED diploma required Responsibilities Support the program staff and clients by providing interpreting services for clients. Interpret and translate clinical information for the program staff and clients. Provide interpretation during triage, assessments, group therapy, individual therapy, nursing, psychiatry appointments, and during telephone calls. Assist with translation of medical records and clinical documents. Provide general clerical/reception supports to the program as needed. Depending upon needs of the program and clients, may be expected to provide telehealth services. Work collaboratively with all other members of the program team. Qualifications Bilingual Spanish is required for this position; must be able to demonstrate fluency in writing, speaking, reading Spanish. Minimum of one year of experience as a translator or interpreter preferred. Excellent phone etiquette, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and maintain confidentiality required. Previous experience in a similar mental health program serving the CYF population is desirable. A valid California driver’s license in good standing, personal vehicle, and proof of insurance is required to fulfill the essential functions of this position.
