Snelling is seeking an experienced Interim Bookkeeper/Accountant for an immediate opening with a professional services company. This position will be responsible for handling essential day-to-day accounting functions, including billing, accounts payable, payroll, consultant payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Pay : $70k+ performance bonuses, depending on experience

Schedule : Monday–Friday, business hours
Position : Temporary / Interim

BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage bi-weekly client billing, including uploading hours for 80+ consultants from CBiz into QuickBooks.
• Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, payment processing, and vendor record maintenance.
• Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 8 internal employees, including salary, bonuses, and commissions.
• Process bi-weekly payments for 1099 consultants and ensure accurate documentation.
• Review consultant timesheets and expenses for accuracy and follow up on discrepancies or missing information.
• Communicate directly with consultants regarding timesheets, expenses, billing, and payment questions.
• Work with internal staff and clients as needed to resolve billing and accounting questions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure transactions are properly entered and documented in QuickBooks.
• Assist with general bookkeeping and accounting duties as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling payroll, financial, and employee information.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF BOOKKEEPER/ACCOUNTANT:

• Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, billing, or accounts payable/receivable.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise – Professional Services (Desktop) preferred.
• Experience processing payroll and working with 1099 contractors strongly preferred.
• Experience with client billing and timesheet-based invoicing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work directly with people and confidently follow up when information is needed.
• Must be comfortable working in a small-company environment where collaboration and communication are essential.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and step into the role with minimal training.
