Job Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION:

During Summer 2026, the Georgia Perinatal Quality Collaborative will conduct a statewide project to identify and track maternal health resources and evaluate perinatal mental health programs serving underserved populations. The objective is to assess the availability of prenatal, postpartum, lactation, and behavioral health services; document barriers to access; and evaluate the effectiveness of current district-level initiatives.


The intern will assist with selecting qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, coordinating data collection with district nursing teams, analyzing data, and synthesizing findings. The intern will also support the communication of maternal health content to internal partners, district leadership, and community stakeholders.


THE STUDENT WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASSIST WITH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:

1. Maternal health resource mapping - Develop documentation and deliverables summarizing statewide service availability, gaps, and barriers
2. Data collection coordination - conduct and participate in data collection efforts with staff
3. Program evaluation - design and apply evaluation tools to assess perinatal mental health and maternal health initiatives
4. Data analysis - analyze quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate statistical and informatics methods
5. Data interpretation - interpret results to inform program planning, policy recommendations, and resource allocation

HOURS PER WEEK & DURATION: Approximate 10 hours per week for 20 weeks or a total of 75 hours beginning August 18, 2026.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM TRAINING :

1. Bachelor's degree in related field
2. Enrolled in Master's in Public Health program
