Marketing Student Assistant

Job Description and Duties

Under close supervision of the Information Officer II and in a learner capacity, the Student Assistant supports the Marketing staff in their efforts to communicate and market CalHFA's Single Family and Multifamily Lending programs in addition to internal and external Agency communications.

Desirable Qualifications:
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Comfortable with printing, assembling, and packaging materials for events and mailings
• Willingness to perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes, setting up tables, or organizing event supplies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in learning about event coordination, marketing or public outreach is a plus

Working Conditions

Our office is in 500 Capitol Mall , a high-rise building conveniently located in downtown Sacramento with access to public transportation (light rail and bus) and freeways (I-5, 99, and Business 80). It is one block from Downtown Commons (DOCO), the Golden 1 Center, and many restaurants. Employees also have access to an ATM, Panera Bread, bike lockers, and a gym, all located in the building. Candidates who are new to state civil service will start at the minimum amount of the salary range.
