To support strong partnership and team connection, this role follows a four day in office work model. Location Overview Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it's a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River. With its prime location in the heart of downtown, the OPO Building provides easy access to major transportation hubs, including Union Station and multiple CTA lines, making it convenient for commuters. The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas. Role Overview: Primary responsibility for the oversight, governance, and execution of payroll operations across non-US jurisdictions. This role ensures compliant, accurate, and timely payroll processing while managing complex cross-border matters such as expatriate payrolls, tax protection, and multi-country reporting. This position serves as the central point of coordination for internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Tax, and Legal) and external payroll providers for all cross-border and non-US payroll-related matters, ensuring alignment with global payroll strategy, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market-informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $97,750-$139,150, with actual compensation determined by job-related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location. This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure end-to-end payroll processing for Canada and APAC
- Coordinate with European colleagues to ensure consistency in all global payrolls
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll execution, including earnings, deductions, statutory filings, payments, and income allocations
- Monitor payroll calendars and coordinate multi-country payroll cycles
- Lead payroll support for internally mobile employees, including cross-border travel, expatriates, split payrolls, and tax gross-up calculations
- Partner with Global Mobility and Tax to ensure alignment on cross-border compliance and reporting
- Prepare IRS Forms 1042/1042-S, treaty-based return filings, and other similar tax forms
- Coordinate with Tax on ad-hoc cross-border matters, such as strategic opportunities, expansion and permanent establishment analyses
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX compliance over payroll processes
- Establish and maintain standardized global payroll policies, procedures and documentation
- Drive process improvements, automation and harmonization across jurisdictions
- Assemble clear and concise workpapers
- Respond to inquiries from tax authorities
- Assist in various payroll-related tasks with a great attitude and willingness to contribute
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field
- At least 8 years of payroll or tax experience with significant exposure to multi-country tax and payroll operations
- Direct experience with cross-border payroll matters
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Organized and able to successfully manage multiple tasks at a time
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple jurisdictions and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Master's degree in accounting and/or CPA and/or CPP
- Proficiency in Workday
- Experience in global mobility programs
- Exposure to equity compensation payroll reporting
- Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to work independently and as a member of a team and communicate with all levels throughout the organization
- Experience in a publicly traded or large multinational organization
