Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of experience for a demanding and rewarding position in a medical-surgical unit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high-quality patient care and possess the necessary clinical skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Holiday Requirements

• Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving Day/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day.
• If the contract covers only 2 of these holidays, the traveler will be required to work 1 of the 2 holidays.
• Only one holiday off request is permitted.

Schedule Requirements

The position requires night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend shifts are expected approximately every other week.

Pre-Screening Process

All candidates will undergo a clinical review to determine fit for the role. Following a successful clinical review, candidates will be forwarded to the manager for a final decision. The manager will conduct interviews.

Minimum Experience and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is required.

Additional Job Details

• Requested time off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days.
• Must be willing to float to all medical-surgical floors and potentially to rehab, with occasional rotations to OB as needed.
• The facility is a tobacco and fragrance-free environment. Candidates must be notified prior to submission.
• Staff may need to care for COVID patients as part of their duties.

Unit Information

• 2 East: Occasionally cares for stable open heart surgery patients transferred from ICU, typically on day 4-5 post-op.
• 4 East: Focuses on patients requiring peritoneal dialysis and respiratory support.
• 3 South: Manages cardiac disease and stroke patients, supported by the CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators for high-quality patient education.
• 3 East: Handles joint replacements, observation patients, and fast turnaround cases.
