Assistant Controller

A growing alternative investments firm in NYC is looking to hire an Assistant Controller.
Job Description:

Job Function:
- Coordinate with loan/fund administrator, auditors and tax partners.
- Maintain loan accrual schedules and reconcile to loan admin books.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly investor reporting.
- Support the quarterly valuation process.
- Support capital calls, distributions, and performance calculations.
- Maintain the track record for the Fund and the loan portfolio.
- Support the firm's compliance program alongside third party partner firm.
- Assist in the review and production of monthly closings and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting and variance analysis for revenue and operating expenses.
- Assist with cash forecasting and maintenance of 16 week forecast
- Assist in developing and enhancing accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows including coordination with AI initiative.
- Partner cross-functionally with investment, compliance, investor relations, and operations teams.
- Participate in strategic finance initiatives, system implementations, and ad hoc analyses.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA preferred.
- 2-6 years of accounting and/or public audit experience, preferably within alternatives
- Solid understanding of GAAP, partnership and fund accounting, and investment accounting concepts.
- Familiarity with management company accounting and operating entity financials.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with senior management.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take ownership.
