Billing Specialist

Pearl Cohen is an international law firm offices in Boston, New York, and San Francisco. We represent innovation-driven clients; from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and entrepreneurs, investors, academic institutions, and government-related entities. We are looking for a talented individual to join our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of drafting and finalizing client bills and e-bills. There will be an opportunity to grow and take on other accounting tasks within the Firm. This is a hybrid position; you will work at our New York midtown office at least three days a week. Pay $75,000 - $87,000 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage the full monthly billing cycle and prepare attorney invoices accurately and on time. Prepare LEDES files for submission to clients via web-based e-billing systems or via email. Troubleshoot and resolve all errors. Initiate corrective measures and communicate with billing attorneys and clients, as appropriate. Identify, escalate, and help resolve collection concerns. Excellent written and oral communication skills with attorneys, staff, vendors, and clients. Protect all client and firm financial information with strict confidentiality. Requirements At minimum of 3 years' experience in legal services billing Advanced Excel skills (vLookup and Pivot Tables) Proficient with Outlook and AdobePro Experience with major e-billing systems such as Legal Tracker, CounselGO, Brightflag, TyMetrix, Collaborati, BillingPoint, CounselLink, Passport, Legal eXchange, etc. AA or BA degree preferred Familiarity with accounting principles Medical, vision, and dental insurance 401(k) Flexible PTO policy Parental leave This position description is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of the job.
