Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Med/Surg for a 13-week night shift assignment on a busy Ortho/Neuro unit requiring 2+ years of experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 15-bed Ortho/Neuro nursing unit
• Night shift, 18:45-07:15
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Epic for charting
• Navy or maroon scrubs required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required depending on unit needs
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols
• Implements and monitors patient care plans and communicates patient condition to the care team
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and assesses discharge planning needs
• Requires strong critical thinking, independent judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment
• Local candidates accepted, though a radius rule may apply that affects pay rate
• First-time travelers may be considered
