Payroll Specialist (Construction)

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing for union and non-union employees. This role audits time records, reconciles payroll data, supports tax-related activities, maintains payroll records, and resolves discrepancies. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with payroll systems and collective bargaining agreements. Responsibilities Process payroll accurately and on time for union and non-union employees across multiple FEINs and collective bargaining agreements on a weekly basis. Maintain payroll records in compliance with applicable laws, including the Davis-Bacon Act, and ensure all changes are entered with appropriate approvals. Review, audit, and reconcile timecards after manager approval, following up as needed to resolve discrepancies. Research and resolve payroll issues by partnering with payroll staff, Human Resources, and operational leaders to maintain data integrity across HR and payroll systems. Respond promptly to employee and management questions, ensuring timely and professional issue resolution. Update and maintain union pay rates, benefit rates, and working assessments in the appropriate HR/payroll system in coordination with HR. Continuously review payroll processes and recommend improvements that increase accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience independently processing union payroll and interpreting collective bargaining agreements required; multi-state payroll experience preferred. Working knowledge of applicable federal and state wage and hour laws required. Experience with Spectrum and ADP Workforce Now preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications required. Demonstrated ability to adapt and remain flexible in a changing environment. Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills required. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet deadlines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
