Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; follow department safety policies and procedures for patient safety.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging and ensure exam accuracy.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures to help them feel comfortable; insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Position patients appropriately, utilizing safe patient handling; assist with lifting or moving patients with limited mobility.
- Perform CT imaging using appropriate protocols; familiarity with Philips and Siemens equipment preferred.
- Maintain accurate patient records (EPIC) and ensure images are correctly sent to the PACS system upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility; adhere to infection control and safety standards.
- Participate in on-call coverage as required (2–3 call shifts per month) and provide coverage during holidays per unit needs.

Requirements
- Education: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology; ARRT certification.
- Licenses/Certifications: NYS licensure required prior to starting; injection therapy certification stated on license; ARRT certification; BLS (American Heart Association).
- Experience: Two (2) years of CT experience; Level I Trauma Center experience strongly preferred; telemetry experience as applicable.
- Equipment knowledge: Knowledge of Philips and Siemens CT systems preferred.
- Other: Ability to work in a fast-paced travel assignment; Epic experience highly desired.
