Electrical EngineerThis Electrical Engineer role focuses on designing, integrating, and testing circuit card assemblies and supporting electronics for advanced infrared sensor and camera systems. You will define requirements, develop complex analog and digital circuits, and oversee projects from concept through verification, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. values technical excellence, teamwork, and continuous learning.ResponsibilitiesDefine, decompose, and document electrical and system-level requirements for circuit card assemblies and supporting electronics.Design circuit card assemblies, including component selection, schematic capture, printed circuit board (PCB) layout input, and coordination with PCB design tools and teams.Plan and perform circuit card assembly verification testing, troubleshooting, and debug activities to ensure designs meet performance and reliability requirements.Create detailed design review materials and deliver technical presentations to peers, leadership, and customers, clearly communicating design decisions and trade-offs.Design, integrate, and test complex analog and digital circuits, including high-speed digital and digital signal processing circuits, for infrared sensor and camera systems.Verify system-level requirements by integrating hardware into larger systems and validating performance against specifications.Gather, analyze, and interpret technical data to support data-driven decision making and conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives.Create and review basis of estimates (BOEs) for engineering tasks, supporting accurate planning, scheduling, and budgeting.Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including integrated circuit design, test engineering, software engineering, mechanical design, and systems engineering, to ensure cohesive system integration.Perform a wide variety of engineering tasks to gain familiarity with internal methods, processes, programs, and best practices.Support and reinforce the organization's mission, values, and culture through professional conduct, collaboration, and a positive, solutions-oriented approach.Manage assigned tasks proactively to ensure on-time completion and maintain high-quality documentation throughout the design and test lifecycle.Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic professional network.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and file browsing tools.Ability to perform circuit card design activities, including requirements definition, component selection, schematic capture, and support for PCB layout and assembly.Strong diligence, work ethic, and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic engineering environment.Good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Effective communication skills in data analysis, documentation, and presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.Detail-oriented mindset with a strong focus on accuracy and Engineering is a plus.Experience designing circuit card assemblies for complex electronic systems.Experience with schematic capture tools such as Cadence, Mentor, Altium, or similar platforms.Hands-on experience with integration and test of circuit card assemblies in new products, including validation and verification activities.Experience with electrical design tools such as Cadence Allegro or similar PCB design tools.EO/IR sensor and video camera development experience, including camera and high-speed video digital design, is highly preferred.High-speed digital design experience, including board-level implementation and signal integrity considerations.Experience with analog and power electronics design for board-level hardware.Firmware and softcore processor design experience, including VHDL or similar technologies, is a strong plus.R&D experience focused on analog or digital design, with the flexibility to move between different design domains as needed.Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to produce clear design descriptions, test reports, and technical presentations.Experience working in environments related to aerospace, defense, or ITAR-controlled projects is beneficial but not required.Familiarity with system-level and board-level design, including integration of camera support electronics into larger systems.Comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing partial design and partial test responsibilities depending on project phase.Positive, mature, and professional demeanor with a strong "can-do" attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.Work EnvironmentYou will work within a dedicated Electrical Engineering team focused on circuit card assemblies, PCB layouts, routing, and circuit design for camera support electronics and infrared sensor systems. The environment emphasizes system-level and board-level design, including flex and rigid-flex boards, rigid boards, high-speed digital circuits, and packaging under challenging EMI/EMC and mechanical constraints. You will collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineering groups to integrate electronics into larger internal and customer systems. The team composition is approximately 70% sr. engineers and 30% junior engineers, providing strong mentorship and learning opportunities. The role operates in a hybrid work model, with most of the team in the office and flexible arrangements that typically involve being on-site 2–3 days per week, with more frequent on-site presence during the initial ramp-up period. The schedule includes every other Friday off, supporting work–life balance. Work is currently weighted toward testing due to component availability and active programs, with increasing design responsibilities expected as new contracts and growth materialize over the next few years. You will use a range of lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, digital multimeters, and other test instruments, as well as modern electrical design and PCB tools.
