The unit caters to a diverse patient population from adolescents to geriatrics. The nurse will be responsible for managing a patient ratio of 1:6. The average daily census for the unit is 33 patients. The nurse will need to demonstrate proficiency in peripheral line care and management. Experience with non-invasive airway management and oxygen administration is essential. Knowledge of isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The position may require floating within the facility as needed. Weekend shifts will be expected every other weekend unless otherwise specified. If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, working on that holiday is expected. If two major holidays occur during this period, working on both is required. For three major holidays, the nurse will be expected to work two. The position involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, including respiratory services, phlebotomy, and social services. The nurse will participate in rapid response situations as necessary. Compliance with all required documents and orientation is crucial to start on time.
