Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year; first-timers accepted License: Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in a Medical Surgical Unit with remote telemetry - Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 - Familiarity with electronic medical record systems Description: We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for a Medical Surgical unit. The nurse will care for a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of nursing experience. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. BLS certification is required. The typical patient ratio is 1 nurse to 6 patients. Average daily census on the unit is approximately 33 patients. The unit consists of 38 beds. The candidate will be expected to float within the facility as needed based on their scope of practice. There are no call requirements for this position. The nurse will be expected to work during one major holiday if it falls within their assignment period. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work both. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the nurse is expected to work at least two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day. Full compliance is required to begin work on time. Travelers are expected to adhere to the scheduled shifts and maintain a flexible approach to their responsibilities. Candidates must possess skills in patient care, including knowledge of peripheral line care and oxygen administration. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams such as IV teams, respiratory services, and social services is essential. The facility prioritizes adherence to safety protocols including isolation precautions and the use of personal protective equipment. All requests for time off must be finalized upon submission.
